PETBUDDYZ PAW PRINTZ
DECEMBER ‘03 VOL3

HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all our Buddyz and Parentz!!

We hope that the snow early this month was as much fun for you as it was for us and our 4 legged Buddyz. The parks were beautiful and the dog runs were filled with all those wet dogs running around chasing sticks and getting lost in the drifts! We had a blast! Don’t forget those doggy towels, they really help us deliver dry pooches and wipe off the salty paws. Just place them near your Buddy table on days that seem slushy and wet.

PETBUDDYZ is in the process of updating our website at www.petbuddyz.com. We don’t have too much time to be online, but slowly and surely we will be adding more photos of our favorite pets as well as other commentaries and links to our favorite sites. We will also be changing the “look” of the site, while keeping the “feel” If you can think of anything that we can add to our site, please let us know. Chris really wants it to eventually become a PETBUDDYZ community site where we can all go to find new vets, groomers reserve a buddy, etc. Alison McCarthy, for instance, (Oscar the Wonder-Pug’s Mom) has a fantastic pet related business online at www.littlesilverbox.com. She custom makes lunch boxes with pictures of your pets, and they look great! They are fantastic for holiday or birthday gifts. Check it out. Also, don’t forget to refer friends to our site. Remember, if they become part of our PETBUDDYZ family, YOU get a free dog walk or cat visit.

Maleah Jacobs is an animal communicator and teacher extraordinaire! In fact,Seattle Magazine named her as Seattle’s Best recently, and she’s coming to NYC this February 7-8. She teaches all around the US and Canada and PETBUDDYZ is excited to get her here. She’ll teach a 2 day workshop. On our first day we’ll learn how and why it works, some preparation exercises, and trouble shooting. On the second day, we will actually be communicating with animals using photos and even our own live “Buddyz”! We will address health issues, lost animals, death and dying among other issues. The 10 hour course fills up fast and Maleah can’t wait to hear from our PetParentz. Visit her website at www.maleahjacobs.com or email her directly at maleah@maleahjacobs.com for more details. And book early as her workshops are very limited and always fill up. Tell her PETBUDDYZ sent ya!

PETBUDDYZ welcomes its new Buddyz this month. MAO is the most wonderful Cornish Rex cat you’ll ever meet. He’s 5 years old and plays like a kitten. His favorite activity is to jump on your shoulders and lick the back of your neck. He redefines the word “cool”! Welcome Mao! (He can say his name...”maaoo...maaoo!) Then there’s CHASE a one and a half year old American Pit Bull Terrier...Chris is in LOVE with this boy! He’s such a charmer, everyone on the street smiles as he walks by. And boy is he well behaved. He spends all week frolicking in Central Park with PETBUDDYZ and loves it!.Then there’s the incredible Theo. He’s a mixed 4 year old and he’s faster than a bullet. He loves the snow and doesn’t care about the cold since his parents have quite a nifty winter wardrobe for him. Theo lives in the shadows of Lincoln Center and PETBUDDYZ loves the walks with him along the River and the Pier! PETBUDDYZ bids a fond farewell to Crosby, the sweetest West Highland Terrier. Crosby moved unexpectedly and we wish him the very best in his new life with his brand new family We also cant wait for our holiday pets this year. Furelle (“meow-meow” as he likes to be called) lives in the East Village and we can tell is going to be so much fun while his Dad is in Thailand. Two other cats that we just can’t wait to play with are brothers Jasper and Solomon. They are going to be a handful, but we are still excited. We also look forward to the return of Joey from Philadelphia later this month. He’s one of Judith’s favorites!!

This month’s Pet of the Month is shared by none other than Twyla and Hazel. They live in the same building and besides being neighbors they are the very best of friends. They’re both just over a year old. Twyla is a feisty, gorgeous American Pit Bull Terrier and Hazel’s a bouncy Tibetan Terrier. These “Terrific Terriers” are one of the greatest joys of PETBUDDYZ. They chase each other for half an hour then wrestle and box for another half hour at the dog run. It doesn’t matter that Twyla’s triple the weight and size of Hazel, they don’t seem to care. They look forward to each other every day and seem so sad when one of them cant come out to play. And Twyla just loves protecting that little Hazel from the pet run bullyz!! You’ve got to see them in action. ( Besides, Hazel’s been bugging me for months to get Pet of the Month! ) Congrats girls!

If you haven’t alerted PETBUDDYZ as to your holiday plans, please do so ASAP. Chris and Jen will be doing double duty for those of you that need holiday care, but book us NOW if you need us.

Again, PETBUDDYZ wishes you all The Happiest of Holidayz and a Wonderful New Year!
